Thanks to everyone who came out to the last open studio. I meet a lot of new faces & always happy to see my regular peeps. Heres a couple of new items for next Saturdays sale. I’ll be adding stuff throughout the week, so check back.
I’m redoing my apartment so I’ll be bringing a lot of stuff in from chez de Ley. I’m crushed out on this comfy Orange Velvet Chair & Ottoman but alas she doesn’t go in the new color scheme. It’s the perfect chair for curling up with a good book or some Netflix binge watching.
Huzzah! The Savoy Flea’s been named one of the Seven Best Vintage Shops in Chicago for Men by Inside Hook Magazine.
I’m thrilled the studio’s been chosen along the ranks with some great shops. The whole idea of The Savoy Flea is creating the perfect Masculine/Feminine balance with Classic Continental pieces, mixed in with Parlor Style Poetry.
So check out some of the latest fresh picks for The Gentlemen below &

It’s Christmas crunch time & every year when I’m stuck in endless traffic, check out lines & parking lots with exhausted, frantic & crazed shoppers; I remind myself of The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
“I am thirsty for this water,” said the little prince. “Give me some of it to drink . . .”
And I understood what he had been looking for.
I raised the bucket to his lips. He drank, his eyes closed. It was as sweet as some special festival treat. This water was indeed a different thing from ordinary nourishment. Its sweetness was born of the walk under the stars, the song of the pulley, the effort of my arms. It was good for the heart, like a present. When I was a little boy, the lights of the Christmas tree, the music of the Midnight Mass, the tenderness of smiling faces, used to make up, so, the radiance of the gifts I received.
“The men where you live,” said the little prince, “raise five thousand roses in the same garden–and they do not find in it what they are looking for.”
“They do not find it,” I replied.
“And yet what they are looking for could be found in one single rose, or in a little water.”
“Yes, that is true,” I said.
And the little prince added: “But the eyes are blind. One must look with the heart . . .”
Just a quick Thank You for an amazing year & wishing you a Peaceful & Happy Holiday!
